In the course of three short weeks, we funded in just four hours, raised over $45,000 total, and smashed through seven stretch goals, and it's all thanks to you! Marty and I can't wait to get the final parts of the book polished up and into your hands!
In the days ahead, I'll keep you up to date about the state of things. Rob Schwalb is polishing the rules with Marty as I write this, and as soon as those are set, we'll get the book into editing and layout and ready for print. Whew!
I also need to get BackerKit set up and figure out the best way to get your unlocked ebooks to you straight away. We'll also be setting up the pledge manager to allow you to add to your orders as you like.
Anyhow, more details soon, but tonight I'm going to see if I can find me some dragonfire to celebrate! Thank you all so much!
Get the Shard Tabletop Edition for Free!

On Friday evening, I had a great conversation with Hal Howard over at Shard Tabletop, a sharp new virtual tabletop (VTT) you can use to play 5E online or even to enhance your game around an actual table. We worked out a deal to convert Shotguns & Sorcery: The 5E Sourcebook for Shard Tabletop, and — better yet — to give everyone who backs at the Digital Goods ($30) level or higher a key for a free copy of the Shard edition of the book too!
This isn't a stretch goal. You don't have to up your pledge or drag in your neighbors. (Although, hey, let them know about the great deal if you can!) We're just making it happen.
To be clear, the Shard edition of the book will be available for sale in the Shard marketplace once the printed books go on sale to the public, but if you back this Kickstarter for the PDF or a printed book, you get the Shard edition absolutely free!
That's a nice bonus!
As I write this, we only have 55 hours to go until the Kickstarter comes to an end. Let's make the most of them.

Thanks, Backers! We managed to crack that 5th stretch goal last night, and we're already zooming past that toward the next ones. That means that the deluxe hardcover will now come with gilt edges, which is going to look fantastic!
As you may already know, the Kickstarter for Shotguns & Sorcery: The 5E Sourcebook ends tomorrow, November 16, at 9 PM Central Time. Because of that, I'm just going to list the remaining stretch goals we've planned out right here and now. If we don't make them, no worries at all. You're still going to get an amazing book out of it.
But if we can crack them, the book will be even better. Here they are:
$40,000: A set of printable inserts for your customizable GM's screen!
$45,000: A set of wallpapers/backgrounds for your computer/tablet/phone!
$50,000: Burnish the deluxe hardcover's cover with red foil!
The printable inserts will be 8.5" x 11" inches, suitable for use with the player-facing sides of various customizable game master's screens out there that feature pockets for your own artwork. We'll supply the artwork from our best material, of course, as PDFs for you to print.
The wallpapers/backgrounds will be drawn from our best artwork and will be supplied both with and without the Shotguns & Sorcery logo. You can proudly display them wherever you like.
We'd love to add a final touch to make our deluxe hardcovers even more special. For this, we'll burnish the front cover with a red foil reminiscent of the Dragon Emperor. It should look fantastic!
At the moment, we only have 30 hours to go. Let's see if we can make this happen!

Sixth Stretch Goal Unlocked! It All Ends Tonight!

Hi, Backers!
Thanks to you, we unlocked our sixth stretch goal overnight. That means we'll produce a series of printable images for you to use in your customizable GM's screen. By way of example, here's the screen Marty and I used at Gamehole Con, where we ran nine sessions of Shotguns & Sorcery for attendees.
I actually made my images a little bit bigger to really fill the pockets and then got them sent them to Walgreens for same-day printing. They came out really sharp.
To tally up, so far, we've unlocked:
$25,000: All backers get a free PDF of the comic Shotguns & Sorcery: The Wizard's Wife. UNLOCKED!
$27,500: A brand-new character sheet for the book. UNLOCKED!
$30,000: The deluxe edition of the book gets a ribbon marker. UNLOCKED!
$32,500: The character sheet becomes a fillable PDF. UNLOCKED!
$35,000: The deluxe hardcover gets gilt edges. UNLOCKED!
$40,000: A set of printable inserts for your customizable GM's screen! UNLOCKED!
We still have two more to go, and I'd love to see us hit them. They are:

That's a tall order, considering we're in the single digits of hours remaining to us, but I love to set high goals to see if we can hit them. If we do, great! If not, we're already going to have a fantastic book to play with, — so the higher we can go, the better.

As I write this, we have just over 72 hours until this Kickstarter is over. We've raised a little shy of $35,000, and when we hit that, we'll unlock our next stretch goal. After that, we have some pretty cool news to share with you too. (Get ready for the announcement tomorrow!)
Meanwhile, Russ Morrissey over at EN World asked me if I had a PDF preview of the book ready to go. Since the illustrious Rob Schwalb just started his development pass on the rules, I didn't want to share any of the crunchy bits before we wrapped that up. However, I realized that I could take one of the setting chapters from the Cypher System book — better yet, the chapter all about Dragon City — and make a great sample out of that. So, here it is!
Please feel free to share that far and wide and show all your gamer friends. Like I said, we only have a few days left before this all comes to a (hopefully) thunderous end, and we need all the help we can get.
