Shard Complete!
12 months ago – Tue, Oct 24, 2023 at 07:59:29 PM

I am told that Shard is emailing codes to each and every backer for a free copy of Shotguns & Sorcery 5E for Shard Tabletop. If you haven't gotten one, please check your spam filter. If you don't find it there either, pop me a note at [email protected], and we'll get you set up.

This officially marks the end of this Kickstarter, with every last bit of it fulfilled. Woot!

I appreciate your patience about this last bit, and I hope you've been enjoying the regular book plenty already. I'll be releasing it to the public in the near future, and when that happens, I'll ask you the favor of sharing that news with your fellow gamers so they can grab one too.

Thanks, and I hope you enjoy the Shard edition!

September Update
about 1 year ago – Thu, Sep 07, 2023 at 11:01:31 AM

Hi, Backers!

It's been a wild and crazy summer, and I hope you all had a great one too. First up, an update on the last bit to deliver: the Shard Tabletop edition. My son Pat has been revising the last bits with Hal Howard over at Shard, and they are juuuust about ready to call it done. I'll let you know as soon as that happens.

If you follow me anywhere else, you might have heard that my latest game came out just over a month ago: the Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game. It's selling well, and reviews have been great. If you like supers games, please check it out.

In other news, I will be a guest at U-Con Gaming Convention, November 17-19. They have a unique format for meeting guests by hosting a dinner talk show called "U-Con Talk: An Evening With Lenny" on the first night of the convention, from 5-7 PM. For my part, I'll discuss current and upcoming projects with the host, as well as talk about the sessions I plan to run during the con. Event Registration goes live this Saturday, 9/9. I hope to see you there!

Besides that, I'll also be a guest at Gamehole Con in Coctober, a fantastic show that takes place in Madison, Wisconsin, October 20-23. It looks likely that I'll be at New York Comic Con the weekend before that.

Anyhow, I hope to see you on the road, and to have good news for you about Shard soon — after which I'll finally start selling the 5E Sourcebook to the public too. (Until then, people can still get it through BackerKit.)

Books and Shard
about 1 year ago – Tue, Jul 18, 2023 at 12:21:14 PM

Hi, Folks!

Just a quick update as I head out the door to Comic-Con to help push the upcoming debut of the new TTRPG I wrote for Marvel Comics, which is due out August 2nd. I am waiting on Shard to approve the last details so we can get you access to the Shard Tabletop edition of the book. They tell me that will happen soon. Thanks for your patience!

My son Pat did the honors of the conversion for that, and he learned a lot. If you're interested in seeing the book on another VTT, let me know which ones, and we'll see if we can get that rolling too.

Meanwhile, I just released The Art Book and The Wizard's Wife to the public. You can read all the details on my blog. If you would help spread the word, I'd appreciate it.

Either way, I hope you're all having a great summer!

December Update
almost 2 years ago – Thu, Dec 08, 2022 at 06:13:25 PM

Hi, Backers!

By now, everyone who filled out the BackerKit survey (there are still 7 of you) and didn't have their credit card declined (2 of you) should have gotten their books. If you haven't gotten yours, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I have them set aside for you and am ready to ship them out.

The last thing we to fulfill for this Kickstarter is the Shard Tabletop bit. My son Patrick is nearly done with this, but he's also facing down finals next week at college, so I told him to concentrate on that. Once he's back home for the holidays, he plans to wrap up work on that, which we'll submit to Shard and then get out to you as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, if you or anyone you know would like copies of the book, they're still available via BackerKit's preorder system. Just go to ShotgunsNSorcery.com, and that should take you straight there. I plan to release it to the general public early next year. I probably would have done so already, but I'm head down on the Marvel TTRPG at the moment instead.

I hope you all have wonderful holidays ahead of you and that 2023 is much better for you all than 2022!

International Shipping, and a Call to Stragglers
about 2 years ago – Wed, Oct 05, 2022 at 09:04:45 PM

I had a wonderful time in Sweden last week. Although I'm still recovering from the jet lag (and an encounter with moose tartare), I managed to take a good look at what I need to do to get the books out to our international backers — and I realized that with various VAT and customs issues, it was more than I could reasonably handle.

Fortunately, the fine folks at Atlas Games — who ship books all over the world all the time — stood ready to take over this portion of the fulfillment, so I'm sending those books up to them today. They should get them before the end of the week and then start shipping after that. So, it's going to be a little while longer yet, but the task is now in expert hands.

All that said, there are still a few stragglers left who haven't filled out their surveys. There are 16 of you — which, out of 881, isn't bad. Less than 2%. Still, I would love to get you your books. Of those:

  •  6 of you had your initial payments bounce off Kickstarter. BackerKit gives you another chance to make good on that, so if you're still interested, speak up!
  •  10 of you paid for your pledges on Kickstarter but haven't given me any shipping information. Please do that so I can get you the books you paid for!

Additionally, there are 3 people whose payments for their shipping charges failed in BackerKit. Again, help me out here so I can get you your books!

I've already seen reports of books winding up in backers' hands, and they all seem delighted so far. If you have any problems with your order, be sure to let me know, and I'll take care of it right away.

The last part of this Kickstarter to fulfill is the Shard Tabletop package. My son Pat is putting the finishing touches on that as I write this. Once it's all done and Shard-approved, I'll announce it here.

Thanks once again for your support!
