Almost There...
almost 2 years ago – Tue, Jun 21, 2022 at 04:32:57 PM

Hi, Backers!

The book is complete, with one exception: the index. I hope to have that done in the next day or two and then ship the whole thing off to the printer. I'm told that if we get the files to them this week we should have books in hand before the end of August. Whew!

The folks at Atlas Games will get them shipped out as soon as possible after they get them. This means most of the books should end up in your hands in early September, if not before that.

Once I get the files to the printer, I'll generate a PDF of the book and get that into your hands immediately. There's no reason to wait at that point.

I'll also get book converted over the Shard Tabletop system, and we'll get that to you as soon as possible too. On top of that, I'll generate the GM's screen inserts and the wallpapers and backgrounds for you.

I'll be at Nexus Game Fair this Friday and Saturday, running a couple sessions of Shotguns & Sorcery. If you're in the Milwaukee area, come on out and say hi!

It's all coming together. Thanks to you all for your support!

BackerKit Surveys Are Here
almost 2 years ago – Tue, Jun 07, 2022 at 08:08:50 PM

Hi, Backers!

The BackerKit smoke test I sent out yesterday went flawlessly, so I just pushed the big button that says "Send Out Surveys to All Backers." You should get yours soon. If you don't see it, please check your spam filters for a message from BackerKit.

In other news, I'm working on the final proofreading today, and the printer says we should be good to go to press on June 18 or so. Whew!

By the way, the BackerKit pre-order page for this book is also open now, right here: https://shotguns-n-sorcery.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders. That mean even those folks who missed the Kickstarter can still slip their orders in at the last second. If you have friends who might be interested in the book, please let them know!

As always, thanks for your support!

BackerKit Smoke Test Away!
almost 2 years ago – Mon, Jun 06, 2022 at 06:56:35 PM

Hi, Backers!

I got the approval from BackerKit, and everything looks good so far. Of course, the best way to figure that out for sure is to try it out. For that, BackerKit sends out a Smoke Test, which goes to 5% of the backers. If you get a notice from them, please check it out and let me know if you have any issues.

If everything goes well, I'll send out the rest of the surveys and open the pre-order store too.

Thanks for all your help!

BackerKit Is (Almost) Open!
almost 2 years ago – Fri, Jun 03, 2022 at 07:04:27 PM

I am finally getting BackerKit set up. One of the tricks has been figuring out shipping rates to the various parts of the world all you fantastic backers are from. I could send out a survey to do get your locations, but Kickstarter only allows one survey, and I don't want to bother all of you that much.

So, I currently have shipping rates for large quantities of books in the US (via Media Mail) and single books to the following nations (which are listed as part of the top 10 in this page's Community tab).

  • United Kingdom
  • Canada
  • Australia
  • Germany
  • France
  • New Zealand
  • Ireland
  • Sweden
  • Belgium

If you're a backer from outside those nations — or if you want to order more than one book for shipping outside the US — please ping me with your country at [email protected] so I can set a proper shipping rate for you too. At the moment, I set the shipping fee for nonlisted places (the Rest of the World) at $100 for a book, which should at least get your attention if you skip this step!

Thanks for your help!

May Update
almost 2 years ago – Tue, May 31, 2022 at 09:06:15 PM

Hello, Backers!

I'm just back from a fantastic weekend at KublaCon and squeaking this in under the wire again.

The book is 99% complete. All of the writing is finished, and Marty did proofreading pass on it to catch typos and troubles. I'm going to do the same myself and turn it over to our graphic designer (the excellent Mike Brodu) so he can make the final changes. Then we just need to generate an index, and we're done!

If you're one of the kind folks who offered to look over the book, your deadline for getting feedback to me is, um, right about now. This week at the latest.

The plan is still to get the book to Jostens by the middle of the June, so we should be right on time.

Thanks again to all of you for your support. We're almost there!
